Wonder Woman Makeup Collections (Bye, bye, money).
With Batman V Superman now out in theaters, we've gotten our first official look at Gal Gadot as this generation's Wonder Woman.
I'm not going to make this post a review about BvS, BUT let me say this...Wonder Woman was easily the best part of the BvS film. So much so, that there's been an overwhelmingly positive wave of support for her solo flick which is scheduled to come out summer of 2017.
DC & Warner Brothers have fully embraced all the positivity and are already pushing out Wonder Woman products to coincide with BvS & the WW solo flick.
While I have a bunch of decent Wonder Woman shirts (JunkFood Clothing does a pretty good job of making WW tees that have a bit of a unique twist), the one thing I've never been able to get but DESPERATELY want is a good Wonder Woman makeup collection.
Most of the ones that I've come across are super cute but very obviously made for little girls and thus, the quality isn't very good since it's more of a "toy" than actual "make-up."
MAC did a wonderful collection a few years back with the exception that most of the colors that I found available were kind of "cartoon-y" which, for my taste, just doesn't suit my go-to makeup palette for everyday wear. Everything was bright. Even the beiges and nudes were bright! I still really wanted it (mostly because I'm a packaging whore) but knew that it would just end up sitting in a drawer unused.
(For those interested, you can still find some MAC WW Mup on Ebay and Amazon.com).
Another 2015 Wonder Woman makeup collaboration was with Korean makeup brand Missha X Wonder Woman.
Now the blue package eyeshadow pack and lipstick/gloss are a lot closer to a palette that I am comfortable with. Plus, this line included skin make-up, such as a cushion compact and B.B. creme! The packaging is classic WW and very well done. The only downside was that it all came out in 2015 so I missed the boat on it. Still, it's not totally unavailable, as Missha still sells some items direct through Amazon and like the MAC products mentioned above, you can find additional products on Ebay.
Most recently, it was reported that Walgreens will be releasing a limited-edition collection of WW themed makeup and accessories. No hard release date has been announced yet, outside of May/June 2016 (but I have it on good authority via some Twitter folks I know that the kits are in the warehouse and ready to be shipped!)
**Update! This collection is sold online ONLY. I just went to Walgreens.com and ordered the lip gloss tubes and a lip tint tin (it was all that was available, not counting one red lipstick option). The Comic Beauty Book is available in limited quantities through drugstore.com.
**Update #2! My friends at Warner Brothers sent me the entire Wonder Woman/ Walgreens Haul! Makeup and accessories! I did a periscope unboxing out of the office the other day which I am posting here (so please excuse the quality, because...Periscope).
