Get Your 'Glamour' On - Makeup for Modern Witches
Witches are heading to the forefront again. In fact, I haven't seen popularity like this since the mid-90s, when The Craft hit young women by storm (and I suspect that the current trend might actually surpass it).
And we're not talking goodie Glenda's or Earth mother Wiccans. Nor are we necessarily talking about Goth Princesses...Nope, seems to me this generation's "witches" just ARE WHAT THEY ARE. Good, bad and everything in-between....
Including.....BEAUTIFUL (or would "beguiling" be a better word?). Everywhere you look, there are a range of "witchy" beauty products popping up and becoming so popular, they're hardly able to be kept in stock!
Rituel de Fille (Thank you @Vault_girl101 for the heads up on this) is a make-up line whose makeup manifesto is natural ingredients and the magic found within them. Buy colors separately or as collections such as, Cultus, Feral and Night Visions.
In the same vein (although not outwardly "witchy") is the Herbivore line from Urban Outfitters. Organic botanicals add a sensuality to the most basic of their beauty products (I personally use the Jasmine hair perfume and Jasmine body oil). I also dig their line of ADORN Perfumes which most certainly lean into color and crystal theory.
For those going a bit more "Gothic spell caster", LunatiCK Cosmetics has an amazing collection of highly pigmented, talc & cruelty free makeup packaged in an "every day is Halloween" sort of way that makes it impossible to resist. My personal fave is the High-def micro-finish pressed powder in the Ouija planchette compact!
I don't know if this sudden surge on witchy-ness is as some sort of fashion off-shoot to summertime Festival fashion, the uptick in modern feminism and powerful ladies just getting their power on, or a desire to have control in a world where everything seems to be moving so uncontrollably fast (both in good ways and in bad). Whichever the reasons, I, for one, am 100% on board! (Especially if it means I don't have to see anymore zombie shit in the near future). #OverIt
