Customizable "Nerdy" Wallpaper
Last year, during San Diego Comic Con, I went to the Super 7 He-Man pop-up shop and had my mind blown. While everyone else was marveling at the collectibles, I had eyes for the ONLY friggin' thing that wasn't for sale at the shop - Their customized He-Man wallpaper.
Since then, I have been on a never-ending quest to try and find it. I have a little wall, just underneath my stairway, which would be the PERFECT accent wall to have kooky wallpaper pasted onto for that "just right" bit of flair for my living room.
Despite all my searching, I haven't even COME CLOSE to finding a way to acquire it...until now.
Enter Spoonflower.com. There I was, in my bedroom... 1am rolled around and I'm red-eyed and restless, punching in random keywords into search to try and see what unique item I could gather for my house...AND I STUMBLED UPON THE SOLUTION TO MY WALLPAPER ACCENT WALL PROBLEM!
Here's how it works:
- Go to Spoonflower.com & Upload your design (or you can choose a pre-made one).
- Choose a product (You can choose between fabric, wallpaper or giftwrap
- Place an order: Spoonflower prints-to-order w/ no minimum order requierments.
Some of my fave designs are:
Video Game Geek (wallpaper & fabric)
Princess Peachy-Keen (wallpaper & fabric)
Starry Night (wallpaper & fabric)
Godzilla & Friends (Fabric)
RedRum (wallpaper & fabric)
Toile de Jouy - Authors (wallpaper & fabric)
There is a pretty decent DIY community on here. They also have a blog showcasing ways you can utilize your fabrics into a variety of ideas (I've seen everything from skirts to pillows to dishcloths). There are design challenges, giveaways, a ton of options to choose from, so it seems as if they're pretty into building their community.
Review-wise, there's a great reddit thread where it looks to be split 50/50 both for and against this company. And while, despite stumbling upon Spoonflower, I STILL haven't found the He-Man wallpaper I feel in love with at SDCC, I do have my eye on the Toile de Jouy- Authors print. If I end up getting it as a wallpaper, I'll post an update on how it works and looks.
